The Humboldt Association of Realtors is a trade association representing more than 351 Realtors in Humboldt County.

The orginial Eureka Real Estate Board was formally organized more than 88 years ago on January 25, 1922 and chartered by the State and National Associations of Realtors on May 30th of the same year. With a founding membership of 9 Brokers and 14 sales agents, the Association has grown to a current membership of 351 Realtors, 59 real estate sales agents (multiple listing service only) and 120 Affiliate members.

Under the direction of our 2010 Executive Officers Kevin Dreyer, President; Kathi Ray, President-Elect; and Matt Babich, Secretary/Treasurer, the Humboldt Association of Realtors provides services that enhance the knowledge and resources for real estate professionals and the communities they serve through ongoing education, training, information and support services. In partnership with business affiliates, HAR adds value to the community by advocating private property rights, by providing community service and promoting quality of life.

As members of organized real estate, Realtors subscribe to a strict code of ethics and have access to numerous services and programs to enhance their professionalism. In conjunction with the California Association of Realtor's extensive legislative advocacy program, members are well-represented on local, state and federal issues that affect real property.

In addition, Realtor members are active in the community donating more than $47,500 in 2009 to local community agencies and charities including the HAR sponsored "Toys for Kids" drive and Redwood Empire Council Boy Scouts.

All these--and other--programs and services are designed to increase the professionalism of members giving Realtors the tools they need to better serve their clients.
