Bette Dobkin "Hero Award" Recipient Honored

The second annual California Association of REALTORS® "Bette Dobkin Hero Award" was presented at a Housing Affordability Fund reception as part of the CAR Fall meetings held recently in Anaheim, CA.

 

This year's recipient, Yvonne Rosas-Petty of Arcadia, Ca. has lead numerous efforts and events to support the principals of C.A.R.'s Housing Affordability Fund. She has been the catalyst and leader in two 1st time Homebuyers Fairs with the City of Monrovia and three 1st time Homebuyer Fairs with the City of El Monte.

 

In between the Homebuyers Fairs, Yvonne works with "Rebuilding Together" and "Make a Difference Day" in the communities of Monrovia and Duarte. She was the 2010 Chairman of the "Spotlighting Community Services" event held by The Arcadia Association of Realtors®.

 

Yvonne also has been a long time supporter of American Cancer Society Relay For Life and has taken responsibility for various chairman positions with Relay For Life in Arcadia at the Santa Anita Race Track.

 

In addition to her community volunteer and CAR committee work, she is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership, attends National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals functions, Chinese Association of Real Estate Professional Association, LACBOR's Legislative Day and many other local political events

 

The Bette Dobkin Memorial Award was established by the California Association of REALTORS® in 2009 to honor Realtor® Bette Dobkin of Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty of Arcata. Bette dedicated much of her efforts outside of her business interests to serving her community as a passionate advocate for expanding affordable housing opportunities in Humboldt County. This award, provided by Fire & Light of Arcata, recognizes Realtor® members for their efforts that reflect the similar spirit, energy and commitment that Bette excuded to the cause of affordable housing.
