* HAR Announces 2009 Awards

The Humboldt Association of REALTORSâ annually honors three of their members with Realtorâ, Rookie and Affiliate of the Year Awards.

 

Honored at the Association's annual installation dinner held in January at the Baywood Golf & Country Club were Realtor® of the Year, Joyce West of Community Realty; Rookie of the Year, Suzanne Daley of Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty; and Affiliate of the Year, Randi Ellis of iServe Residential Lending.

 

Recipients must be true professionals who have attained a measure of respect from their peers, must have made a contribution to the field of real estate or their field of expertise, must be active in the community and must be actively involved with the Humboldt Association of REALTORS®.

 

Joyce West, Realtorâ of the Year, obtained her real estate license from the State of Washington in 1978. A member of the Humboldt Association of REALTORS® for 30 years, Joyce is co-owner of Community Realty located in Eureka and McKinleyville. She served on the HAR Board of Directors for three years and has chaired or served on a long and extensive list of committees through out her tenure with the Association. Her expertise in all areas of real estate is extraordinary and matched by her willingness to share her knowledge with other Realtors®.

Outside of the Association, Joyce has been involved with the Humboldt State University's basketball teams for many years, attending almost every home game and even a few out of town. Given the title of "Honorary Coach" for the HSU women's basketball team in 2009, she is a problem solver that has earned the respect, dependability and trust of her fellow Realtors®.

 

Suzanne Daley, Rookie of the Year, has been a Realtor® with Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty of Arcata since November of 2008. Suzanne's dedication and concern for her client's welfare is tireless and inspiring to her fellow Realtors®, both new and seasoned. As a new agent she has attended just about every educational opportunity provided by the Association and has become an active participant of the Association's Multiple Listing Service Committee. As a prior owner of several McDonald's franchises for nearly 25 years, Suzanne has demonstrated her dedication to community involvement.

 

An asset to the Humboldt Association of REALTORS® and Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty, Suzanne has proven to be an exceptional Realtor®.

 

Randi Ellis, Affiliate of the Year, has been an active HAR Affiliate member since mid 2008. A Humboldt County resident for the last seven years, Randi, an independent loan officer with iServeResidential Lending in Fortuna, is forever contributing to her industry and her community. A member of Fortuna's Sunrise Rotary Club and the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce, she currently serves as the Affiliate Liaison on the HAR Board of Directors. A former professional home interior decorator, Randi has chaired both the City of Fortuna's rodeo float and the Ferndale Tractor Parade and has participated in the Fortuna Apple harvest Festival to name a few community events.
