Humboldt Association of REALTORS® 2011 President Kathi Ray, of Bindel, Inc., recently announced that in 2010 it's members raised and contributed more than $53,000.00 to local community agencies and organizations. "It's exciting to see the on-going commitment to our communities that continues to be a part of our Realtor® and Affiliate member's goals" stated President Ray.

HAR's 16th Annual Golf Tournament was an overwhelming success again this year raising nearly $19,000.00. Families Advocating Autism Now (FAAN) was the main beneficiary receiving 60% of the proceeds. An additional $500.00 from the tournament proceeds was donated to JAZ Kidz, Inc.

More than $2,000.00 was distributed to local community organizations including North Coast Big Brothers /Big Sisters, Redwood Coast Jazz Festival, Sequoia Park Zoo, Humboldt Literary Project, Eureka Rescue Mission, H. C. Breast Health, Eureka Heritage Society, Food for People, KEET TV, Boys & Girls Club, North Coast Rape Crisis and numerous safe & sober graduations, to name a few.

The 16th annual "TOYS FOR KIDS" drive sponsored by HAR raised more than $34,000.00 this year. This money, spent locally, made it possible for more than 5,000 deserving children in Humboldt County to receive toys, clothes and necessities this last Christmas.

Scholarships from the Mark Nicholson Memorial Scholarship fund totaling $3,500.00 were awarded to four individuals pursing careers in the real estate field.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed and participated in these events. The Humboldt Association of REALTORS® provides services that enhance the knowledge and resources for real estate professionals and the community they serve.
