How to Get A Real Estate License

Before obtaining a Salesperson license you must qualify and pass a written state exam.

AGE: Person must be 18 years of age.

RESIDENCY: Person must provide Proof of Legal Presence in the United States.

HONESTY: Applicants must be honest and truthful. Convictions of a crime my result in denial of license.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Person must complete three courses prior to taking the state license:

  • Real Estate Principles
  • Real Estate Practices, and
  • One of the following:

Real Estate Appraisal
Property Management
Real Estate Finance
Real Estate Economics
Legal Aspects of Real Estate
Real Estate Office Administration
General Accounting
Business Law
Escrows
Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
Computer Applications in Real Estate
Common Interests Developments

Once you pass the examination you will be sent a Salesperson Application (RE 202).
