MARK NICHOLSON SCHOLARSHIPS
Eureka....The Humboldt Association of REALTORSâ recently announced the recipients of the Mark Nicholson Memorial Scholarships totaling $3,500.00 in awards.
Receiving $1,000 Mark Nicholoson Scholarships each were Alex Hunt, Dane Valadao and Kyle Williams. $500 was awarded to Erica Lankila.
Alex Hunt, currently a sophomore at California State University Chico is pursuing a career in construction management with plans to return to Humboldt County and pursue his goal of owning and operating his own construction business.
Working on a MBA from Louisiana State University, Dane Valadao has majored in business finance with a goal of returning to Humboldt County and pursuing a career as a real estate developer specializing in multi-family and commercial properties.
Kyle Williams is attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo majoring in Construction Management specializing in residential development and construction. He hopes to return to Humboldt County as a site superintendent or project manager for a local construction company.
A 2010 graduate of McKinleyville High School, Erica Lankila plans to attend College of the Redwoods and then transfer to a 4-year university obtaining her Master's Degree in business. With a goal of obtaining a real estate Broker's license, she plans on opening a family owned real estate business.
The scholarship fund is in memory of long-time Realtor Mark Nicholson of Four Star Realty and is derived from contributions by REALTORS® and community support.
